Ok, um this is just a short tutorial on about how to do cut out animation and after effects.
And it’s actually like surprisingly easy once you get to know like how it all works, like how the work flow is and stuff. So, the first thing you’re going to want to do is have a layered psd file, and what that is is basically you like pick an image, say if you have a picture of a dog, cat, like a cow or any animal you use, um you bring it in photo shop and cut off all the pieces you want to be able to move around. And save them as separate layers, and since I’ve already done this, I will just import this real quick. I already have my cat file, and what you are going to want to do is import that as a cropped layer composition. Ok, there you see the picture of the comp and here you see the pieces that make up the comp.
The easiest way to do this is just select them all and drag them into your after effects column. And for some reason I usually have to paste these things back together, and I’m not really sure why but someday when I get much better at photo shop I’ll figure it out. Ok, so we have our cat put back together. Ummm, the next thing you’re going to want to do it basically attach all these pieces together, kind of glue them together. The easiest way to do this is to select all of the pieces individually minus the layer that you want to attach them to and set them as a parent layer.
