Or you can bring it all the way down, way down, even up to…these are seconds now…so we can go all the way up to one second or way up to fifteen seconds if you want to put it on a tripod, catch some cars moving by in the middle of the night or you should get some very interesting night time shots. Now listen, I really recommend a camera with a nice open aperture of something like a 2.8, that’s a very nice open aperture. And you’ll see right on our item details page of TigerDirect, it’ll say maximum aperture and there’ll be a number. A lot of the cameras, they start at around 4, which is not quite as open, doesn’t let as much light get in.

With a wide-open aperture, the subject looks great and the background becomes a nice blur of color. So it makes them really stand out. That is what you want. And for a smaller aperture, for…you want to look for something around 8 to 11. And it’ll say that right on item details as well. 8 to 11 is going to have…you know you’ll have more things in focus, the foreground and the background, it’s all going to be clear. It’s great for landscape or sometimes you know you have someone standing in front of a mountain and you want them in focus but you still wanna be able to see that scenery.

Well then you wanna set it to like an 8 or a 11. That’s going to make the picture look amazing. You know another recommendation, get a camera that’s easy to use. The wheel is very easy. You know when you’re changing settings or you wanna change your shutter and your aperture you just turn the wheel until you get to that mode. It’s very simple. A lot of the other cameras you have to go into the menus, it’s a little harder to you know to navigate through and find the right setting. So I like using one with the wheel. It’s a lot like the professional cameras…the big cameras…they all have the wheel. So that’s a very very easy way to get in there and start changing some settings.

All right now that you’ve learnt a little bit about how to use your camera, it’s time to get creative. So check out some of out other videos.
