- Feet Push Molds
Hi, I’m Maureen Carlson. Today we are going to learn how to use a water character foot mould.
First thing you are going to do is brush the mould with powder, I like to use cornstarch baby powder, make sure you get both sides and then shake out all the extra, no extra in there. Take a tube of clay the size of the tube should be small enough that it can fit into the mould without sticking around the edges, there. I’m going to put it into the toe area first, push it in, make sure you fill it up. And you want to fill so that it is flush with the sides of the mould. Like Goldilocks porridge, not too much, not too little. Hold that flat, turn the leg part over and first thing you do is press it up into the heel. Make sure that it is all level, level, level but not too far in or you won’t get the bottom of the foot. Because that’s what you are going to next, push that into the bottom part of the mould. Push it really hard so that you’re sure it makes an indentation, pull it off.
This is part of a series of posts, you can read the rest of it by clicking on the links for the Table of Contents at the top of this post.
