Eurathene and silicone are tb rubbers allow you to quickly make moulds by simply pouring the rtb over your part and allowing it to cure. Moulds like these are commonly called block moulds.

In order to make moulds like these it is necessary to fashion a container to hold the liquid mould rubber. In order to keep the cost to minimum and not waste more material the container are to match the shape of the part leaving about an half inch around leaving the original shape of the part.

As can be seen by these models mould containers need to come in all different sizes and shapes. This video segment will show you a few of the many ways to make mould boxes or containers. Let’s start with s simple one. The first thing to do is find a suitable material for a base. It should be non-porous. Acrylic or Polyethylene work well. Polyethylene is good because nothing sticks to it. Acrylic is good because it is clear and you can see the quality of the seams of the backside of the mold container. You can also to Melaminie board available at any lubber supplier. The next step is to attach the part to the base.
